    Day 4 If you want to control the direction of your life, you must consistently make good decisions 

    It’s Day 4 of the Total Transformation Challenge and today we want to encourage you to make Change Happen in your  life!  Only you can make transformation happen.  NO One Else Can Do This For You!

    Today’s Task:

    Is to Gather your Support Team.  How are you doing?  It’s an important step to take so don’t let it pass you by.  Let at least 3 people know what you ar doing and ask them to help keep you focused.

    Tomorrow’s Task will also be important.  Friday is our last Shake Day before we go on to a 2 Day Cleanse and it’s the perfect time to set clear goals that will help you “Stick To It”.

    Note:  It’s important to prepare for your first Cleanse Day by making sure you have the right snacks in your house, such as organic apples, hard boiled eggs and unsalted almonds. Another tip: You may want to limit (maybe just do cardio) your exercise this weekend; instead just relax a little and allow your body to be fully engaged in cleansing.

    Start by reviewing your numbers and be very clear about ‘Your Why’?  

    What do you want to happen?

    Take time to write down your answers to the questions above.  Know your ‘how much, by when’ numbers and then…

    Find an example of someone who has accomplished what you want to accomplish.  If you want to lose fat and get in great shape, find someone who was in your present condition and notice what they were able to achieve.  That person is ‘living proof’ that it can be done!  You can do this, but having them will help you keep your focus!  Put their and or story picture on your fridge!!!

    What is the single force that shapes the quality of our lives?

     

    What power do we have that can change everything? As you and I both know, the answer is the power of choice.

     

    During the past 30 years I’ve had the privilege of working with an incredibly diverse group of people, from presidents of countries to professional athletes, from managers to moms, from gang members to high-powered business executives.  I’ve had the unique opportunity to see people in the midst of real challenges, whether it’s the professional athlete who wants to regain his competitive edge, the business leader who wants to expand her influence or the political leader who struggles with a difficult decision.  I may not have all the answers (who does?), but after working with so many people and observing the patterns that make them succeed or fail, one thing I am sure of is this: It is our decisions, not our conditions, that determine the quality of our lives.

     

    Take a look at your own life. Are you where you want to be?  Are you as healthy or financially secure or as happy in your relationships as you would like to be?  Or, even if things are going well, are you looking for that extra edge to retain the competitive advantage?  Perhaps you feel that in spite of your success, there’s more out there for you, but for some reason, you haven’t grasped it yet.  Your first instinct may be to blame the economy, or the housing market, or someone who has treated you unfairly.

     

    Before we go any further, we need to understand that we are where we are today because of the decisions we’ve made, decisions about what to focus on, decisions about where to place our priorities, decisions about what things mean and decisions about what to do.  For example, if your business or career has been affected by the recession, do you feel that you are being punished or challenged to find a new path?  What are you going to do about it?  Are you going to give up or give more?  No matter what we have experienced in the past, our history is not our destiny, we all have the power to make new decisions today.

     

    Here’s another way to look at it: Success is a result of good judgment; good judgment is a result of experience, in most cases. And what about experience? Yes, experience is most often a result of bad judgment.

     

    So here’s the good news: The experience gained from bad judgment and bad decisions is unbelievably valuable, it’s priceless!  So don’t waste time beating yourself up over poor decisions you’ve made; learn from the experiences.  Really, failure is actually one of the best ways we learn.  When people succeed, they celebrate.  When they fail, they ponder.  They stop and think, What happened here?  What could I have done differently? It’s only through self-evaluation that we learn how to make better decisions.  So, when you make mistakes, learn from them; use your experience to improve your judgment and make better decisions.

     

    The Path to Freedom—Financial or Otherwise

    We’re living in extraordinarily difficult times.  Every day we read about and experience more challenges, often related to things we can’t control, whether it’s the economy, the environment or unemployment.  We can allow the stress and uncertainty caused by these events to overwhelm us or we can transform our lives by making different decisions.

     

    One of the decisions we can make is to live with a mindset of abundance.  What I mean by this is if we live as though wealth has more to do with what’s in our minds than what’s in our wallets, if we understand that how we feel is more important than what we have, we can discover an immense sense of freedom and happiness.

     

    Think about it: Do you know anyone who has a lot of money but doesn’t feel free, doesn’t feel loved, doesn’t feel like he has a choice?  Sure you do.  You may even feel that way yourself.  That feeling happens when you’re not in control of your emotions because you’re looking for someone or something external to fill internal needs.

     

    I don’t care what you’ve achieved or how much money you’ve earned, if you live with an attitude of scarcity and limitation, if you wait for someone or something else to fulfill you, you’re not going to be happy.  You must make the decision to live with a mentality of abundance, and you will experience true freedom.

     

    It’s Your Time

    Everything that happens in your life – what you’re thrilled with and what you’re challenged by – began with a decision. Your life is the outcome of the decisions you’ve made and the actions you’ve taken as a result of those decisions.  Different decisions produce different results.

     

    If you want to control the direction of your life, you must consistently make good decisions.  It’s not what you do once in a while that has an impact on the direction of your life – it’s what you do consistently.  Make decisions today about how you are going to live in the years to come.  For your decisions to really make a difference in your life it’s imperative to decide what results you’re committed to – and know specifically how these results will transform your life.  It’s equally critical to decide what kind of person you’re committed to becoming.  Get clear about what you want to be, do and have, and what your life will be like after you accomplish this.  With that clarity, you’ll find it becomes easier to make the kinds of decisions that will move you in the direction you desire.

     

    What are your standards? What will you demand from life?  Decide today if you’ll accept life as it is or if you’ll live your life on your own terms, at the edge and at the highest level.

    Each day that you stick to the Challenge is another day towards lasting health and wellness. By “Sticking To It” you’re infusing your body with vital nutrients to help it reach peak health and performance. You may already be feeling more energetic  Soon, you may also start to notice a leaner look to your body. You are going to love how you feel!

    Journey of a Lifetime 30 Day Transformation Day 6 

    YOU DID IT!   

    It’s Jan 20th and Day 6 of the 30 Day Transformation Challenge. 

    How do you feel so far?

    Congratulations, you made it through the first few days of the 30 Day Transformation Challenge and if you are a cleanser your first Cleanse Day is behind you!   Because cleansing may have been a new experience, the next time you cleanse may be easier because you will then know what to expect.    🙂

    If things got tough, remember that you’re on this system to experience real success. In the past, you may have tried some diet or fitness plan that may have delivered benefits—but the results were probably short term. The reason why you’re not going back to those failed plans is because they didn’t work. You’re using Isagenix because you want to experience a better, lasting result.

    For an extra dose of motivation, when you need encouragement call one of the people that you know will support you. Share with a friend or family member what you are doing and why. Hearing other people cheer you on is always a great help!

    Now, let’s talk about taking your weight, measurements and BMI. Write those numbers down on your tracking sheet.  Even if you did not do it on Day 1, get it done! Comparing your new numbers to the ones that you started with will hopefully encourage you—do you see a difference? Now, tell someone what you’ve accomplished and how great you feel!  It will motivate you to Stick With It!

    Why is knowing your weight important?

    1. It will allow you to know for sure that what you are doing is working and that your body is doing what it should be doing (losing weight, maintaining weight, etc.)
    2. There is no better motivator than your own progress.

    Why is taking your measurements important?

    1.  The same answers above apply.

    2. Also, sometimes you will be losing inches instead of pounds.  You may be losing fat pounds and also replacing a percentage of those pounds with lean muscle.  Muscle weighs more than fat so you’ll fit better in your jeans, but it may not be showing up on the scale.

    Why do I need to know my BMI?

    1.  BMI. It is used by both the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and The World Health Organization as a way to help define obesity.  It’s good to know where you stand on this chart; underweight, normal, over weight or obese.

    2.  Knowing your BMI is important because your weight alone doesn’t tell the whole story. If your BMI is too high, you may be at an increased risk for many chronic health problems and nobody wants that!

    Well, now you know and now you are more than 1/6th of the way through the 30 Day Transformation Challenge. Keep going—you’re on your way to greater health and a New Dress size!

    Day 12 of the Holiday Challenge

It’s Official Day 6 of the Challenge (Remember that we took 6 Days to prepare.) and we are half way to our goal. If you are following an Isagenix Program it is a Shake Day.

    Today, you’re working on removing the barriers that have prevented you from experiencing good health in the past.

    Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

    Q.  Why didn’t these studies report measures other than those for healthy weight loss—body composition and lipid profiles?

    Dr. Balliett became interested in Isagenix through her students and eventually was appointed to our Technical Advisory Board (TAB). As a member of the TAB, she remains an impartial resource who does not distribute Isagenix products.

    Q. Does Isagenix plan to perform more research with New York Chiropractic College and other universities?

    A. Yes, Isagenix is actively engaged in assessing the needs for more  clinical studies that may further support the efficacy and safety of our products.

    Q. Have there been any clinical studies performed by independent parties that have not been funded by Isagenix?

    A. We are not aware of any researchers who have studied our products in clinical trials. It is not typical for medical researchers to study products from private industry if not properly funded.

    Q. Why hasn’t Isagenix funded medical doctors to perform their research?

    A. Studies for dietary supplements and foods are best conducted by experts in the field. Sometimes that may be a professor with a medical degree, but most often these type of studies are best done with Ph.D.s at universities or contract research firms who have expertise in weight loss. Federally funded organizations such as National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, etc. do not necessarily wish to support research on products from private industry, particularly if  the studies are not mechanistic or related to diseases. Thus, it is up to individual companies to set aside research dollars to conduct third-party research. That is not to say we would not find a partner at a medical school to conduct research, but it would still have to be funded by us.

    Success is all about believing in yourself and it’s easier when you can have belief in the products too!

    The Holiday Challenge works!  After just a few days of eating, sleeting, drinking and exercising RIGHT, Amy J. is down 4.2 lbs and 4.75 inches and has 15 points!  Kelly. L is down 2 lbs and 3.50 inches and has 15 points!  Emily H. is down 4 lbs and 2 inches and has 13 points-ish!  She is not really counting points.  🙂

    After just few days on the Holiday Challenge,  it’s  working for Jim D.  He  has already lost 6.5 inches and released 5.2 lbs!  

    But… He did not win the first prize.  That’s because we want to reward you for making good choices.  Jim gets up early most mornings and has trouble getting in all 8 hours and had an “Ooops Day” and misses his calorie count once.  So, he missed out on some points.

    But…  His results are still something to be proud of!  Making  just a few changes can make a big difference in your total health.  We want to encourage you to make those changes during the Challenge in hopes that they will become a part of your new Healthy Life Style and will stick with you long after the contest is through.

    It’s also a great way to even out the playing field.  Have you ever noticed that men seem to lose weight faster then women?  Or that when you don’t have a lot to lose, losing seems to go a lot slower?  Well, in order to make sure that the challenge if fair, we chose to reward positive actions as well as big results because both will help you reach your goals.

    ALL 15 participants in this years Holiday Challenge are committed to change and it’s bound to be showing on your face and your hips!  Today officially, is Day 5.  If you are a cleanser it’s two shakes and 600 additional calories.  If you are follow the Eat Right Program, remember that every calorie counts.  Every time something passes your lips you have to count it.  Doing this for a short time (11 Days) will help you to become aware of bad habits and help you end those cravings for good.  So, Stick With IT!

    Now, let’s talk about taking your weight, measurements and BMI. Write those numbers down on your tracking sheet.  Even if you did not do it on Day 1, get it done! Comparing your new numbers to the ones that you started with will hopefully encourage you—do you see a difference? Now, tell someone what you’ve accomplished and how great you feel!  It will motivate you to Stick With It!

    Why is knowing your weight important?

    1. It will allow you to know for sure that what you are doing is working and that your body is doing what it should be doing (losing weight, maintaining weight, etc.)
    2. There is no better motivator than your own progress.

    Why is taking your measurements important?

    1.  The same answers above apply.

    2. Also, sometimes you will be losing inches instead of pounds.  You may be losing fat pounds and also replacing a percentage of those pounds with lean muscle.  Muscle weighs more than fat so you’ll fit better in your jeans, but it may not be showing up on the scale.

    Why do I need to know my BMI?

    1.  BMI. It is used by both the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and The World Health Organization as a way to help define obesity.  It’s good to know where you stand on this chart; underweight, normal, over weight or obese.

    2.  Knowing your BMI is important because your weight alone doesn’t tell the whole story. If your BMI is too high, you may be at an increased risk for many chronic health problems and nobody wants that!

    Well, now you know and now you are nearly one-third of the way through the Holiday Challenge. Keep going—you’re on your way to greater health and a New Dress size for New Years!

    It is fun!  The Holiday Challenge is about making some good choices and getting support.  

    Support is an essential part of success.  With Friends around us we feel stronger, not so alone and like anything is possible.  

    Here is why we need Support:

    Overcoming Challenges is not easy!  No matter what your challenges may be having the support of your family and friends will make the journey easier.  These people are like Angels in your life who can keep you on track when you can’t do it alone!

    “Sticking to It”  means that You Get Your Best Results during the Holiday Challenge by doing a few things, like Journal/Keep-Track/Write-Down your intake, following an Isagenix program (Today is a CLEANSE DAY) or by staying within 200-300 calories for breakfast 300-400 calories for lunch and 500-800 additional calories for the rest of your meals and snacks.

    BUT…. Why?  Why do we need to “Stick to It”?

    There are many things that factor in to weight loss, but a lot just has to do with #’s. In fact, the Why is ALL in the Numbers and Here is Why:

    The number of calories the body needs to consumes in a day is different for every person and so are their caloric needs if they want to lose weight. You may notice on the nutritional labels of the foods you buy that the “percent daily values” are based on a 2,000 calorie diet — 2,000 calories is a rough average of what people eat in a day.

    But… your body might need more or less than 2,000. Height, weight, gender, age and activity level.  If you are following an Isagenix Program, you are consuming about 1200 calories on a shake day.  That is the minimum most nutritionist will recommend without Dr. supervision.  If your following the healthy eating program your consuming on average about the same amount. That will put most of you at a 800 calorie deficit and you will be losing weight!  Woot Woot!

    BUT… There is more!  According to the American Heart Association,

    “more than 140 million American adults are overweight. (Did you check your BMI? Are you one of them?)  Of these, nearly 66 million are obese. People who are overweight or obese are more likely to develop heart disease and stroke (and whole lot of other illness), even if they have no other risk factors. Obesity is unhealthy because excess weight puts more strain on your heart. (Your joint, and bones to) It can raise blood pressure and blood cholesterol and can lead to diabetes. Losing weight is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of heart problems and other diseases. You can reduce your risk of heart disease by reaching and staying at your best weight.”

    That’s why!  It’s also why we are hoping that some of these changes with “Stick with You!”

    This Weeks TEAM Goal: Our goal this week is to help someone else.  It will take a little soul searching and a little self improvement.  Recently, I listened to Steve Jobs autobiographer talk about what kind of leader Steve Jobs had been.  He said that Steve was a brutally honest leader.  He encouraged Positive Attitudes, never let A players slack and never waisted too much time on B Players. He Pushed Day Dreamers, to Take Chances and to turn Dreams in to getting stuff done!   Here is what Steven Tobak wrote about Successful Business Entrepreneurs:

    You won’t achieve the American Dream by dreaming

    (MoneyWatch)  COMMENTARY. We live in volatile times where viewpoints are highly polarized. The way people see business in America is no exception. Lately, it seems as if management commentary is either feel-good fluff or anti-business rhetoric.

    Of course, neither extreme relates very well to the realities of the business world, which makes it all the more frustrating for those of you seeking to advance your career through meaningful insight.

    Speaking of which, one of the key insights you’ll learn sooner or later is not to trust conventional wisdom. If you don’t take chances and challenge the status quo, you won’t get anywhere. So you should probably avoid or at least challenge extreme thinking. In other words, don’t drink the Kool-Aid from either side.

    Perhaps the most damaging piece of popular career and leadership fluff is that you should reach for the stars, aspire to the corner office, and don’t stop until you achieve your dreams. Now, I know what you’re thinking: Isn’t that the American Dream, start from nothing and become a big-time success?

    You see, successful executives and business leaders aren’t typically driven by high aspirations. They didn’t get to where they are by walking around with their heads in the clouds. They got there by putting one foot in front of the other and getting stuff done.

    Just to be clear, I’m not arguing against Robert Browning’s insightful statement that, “A man’s reach should exceed his grasp.” I’m not saying you shouldn’t work your tail off, seek your passion in life, have a vision of something unique, or want to do great things. What I am saying is that you don’t accomplish those things by spending your time thinking about how to get to the top of the corporate ladder.

    So how do you achieve the American Dream?

    You get there by delivering the goods, getting the job done, and satisfying the needs of your customer, whoever that is. If you get really good at doing those things, that’s how you achieve the American Dream. That’s how success really works. Here are some notable examples of what I’m talking about:

    When Mark Zuckerberg was developing Facebook, he was building something he thought would be cool. He wasn’t thinking about running a big company and becoming a billionaire.

    Richard Branson didn’t aspire to build a global conglomerate of over 200 companies when he opened a record shop and mail order retailer named Virgin.

    Bill Gates did not have stars in his eyes when he licensed an operating system to IBM for the first personal computer. He was just trying to satisfy a big new customer.

    Fred Smith was not driven by the idea that FedEx would someday become an everyday verb for express mail. He was driven by the idea of a fully integrated air-to-ground shipping business that could operate efficiently using hubs.

    When Ed Whitacre started out as a facility engineer with Southwestern Bell in 1963 and slowly worked his way up the corporate ladder over the coming decades, he wasn’t thinking about someday running the company and, after a series of mergers, creating the nation’s largest telecom company and relaunching AT&T.

    In 1927, not only were Dick and Mac McDonald not trying to create the world’s first and ultimately its biggest fast food empire, McDonald’s, it took 21 years for them to realize they should be focusing on burgers instead of hot dogs.

    Kraft Foods started with James L. Kraft selling cheese door-to-door. Toyota founder Sakichi Toyoda made looms. Sony started out as a radio repair shop in Tokyo. Nokia was a paper mill in Finland.

    I can go on and on, but the point is this. The secret to success isn’t aspiring to great things. It’s doing great things. And far more often than not, that starts with doing not-so-great things. Oftentimes, you don’t even know what you’re doing is great until way after the fact.

    You won’t get to the top by thinking about how you’re going to be a rich executive someday, but by thinking about how people may actually have use for a personal computer, building them in a garage, and selling them, the way Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak did. Or by just doing your job better than anyone else and slowly but steadily climbing the corporate ladder from the bottom to the top, the way Whitacre did.

    Remember, you won’t achieve the American Dream by dreaming. You’ll achieve it by doing. Your motives won’t be grandiose. They’ll be simple and straightforward, like loving what you do, solving a customer problem, or putting food on the table. That’s what motivates successful people.

Keep your motives in mind: You love what you do, You can help people, You can earn an income for your family! Follow some great leaders actions and Go help someone!
