Common Household Items linked to serious health risks and obesity

Information about how our modern word convenience and products are contributing to serious health risks and obesity is becoming more well-known.  The Environmental Defense Fund is one organization that has been a leader in providing facts to the pubic about this threat to our health.  In an article this month the EDF warns us about invisible toxins inside our homes.  They helped write a report in collaboration with the coalition Safer Chemicals Healthy Families.  This report “connects the dots between chemical exposures and chronic disease”.  The following are a few common household items that contain chemicals linked to serious health risks:   flooring and windows, plastics, fragrances,  food can linings, nonstick cookware, cleaners, hardwood floor protectant, carpeting, nonstick cookware, stain resistant fabrics, microwaves, adhesives, pizza boxes, fast food containers, batteries, old paint, lightbulbs.  This list contains items we can avoid and many that would be very difficult to avoid in our modern world.

As a Physical Therapist in Northern Colorado where health is on the minds of many people,  I am seeing more and more chronic illnesses,  more illnesses affecting people at younger ages, and people desperately wanting to lose weight.  We owe it to ourselves to be diligent about what we eat, what we purchase, what we bring into our homes, and how our actions are affecting our environment.  And we owe it to ourselves to find safe ways to rid our bodies of harmful impurities.

Can I Use Isagenix Products if I am Pregnant or Breastfeeding?

Here is what Isagenix recommends:

Expectant mothers have unique nutritional needs.

Pregnancy is a delicate time for both mother and child. As you know, there’s a lot going on in your growing belly and staying well nourished is critical for normal fetal development and maternal health.

Pregnancy

A dietary plan during pregnancy should best suit individual needs. For this reason, Isagenix recommends an expectant mother review diet and any products with her doctor closely. A quality, physician-prescribed prenatal supplement can also help fill in nutritional gaps. (For general dietary and supplement advice during pregnancy, see USDA MyPyramid Plan for Moms.)

An expectant mother may take advantage of Isagenix food products—such as IsaLean Shakes, Bars, SlimCakes—however, she should do so only with prior approval from her personal doctor or nutritionist. Because the calorie and nutrient needs in pregnant women increase, the shakes and other products should not be considered meal replacements during pregnancy, nor should they be considered as replacements for physician-prescribed supplements.

Isagenix products (including Essentials for Women) should not replace physician-prescribed prenatal supplements. In addition, Cleanse for Life, Natural Accelerator and Ionix Supreme should be avoided because a few of the herbal adaptogens in these products have not yet been studied well in pregnant women.

Breastfeeding

Fort Collins, CO Isagenix Cleansing business building dreams

I never would have thought that stopping by a kiosk at a mall in Fort Collins, CO to win a bottle of an Aloe based body cleanse would change my life.  My results on the cleanse were so surprising that I had to look further into who else was having such wonderful results.

What Isagenix Products Do I NEED?

There are so many ways use Isagenix products.  What you pick will really depend on your goals.

Below we will give just a few popular options and let you know what you can expect.

The most important thing to remember when you are starting an Isagenix Program is that  Isagenix can be flexible –

1. If you have any pounds or inches you wish to lose, most people should begin and
remain on the 30 Day Isagenix Cleansing System until they achieve their target weight.

2. If you’re already at your target weight, you should begin with the Total Health and Wellness System or the Athlete’s Pac.

3. If you are looking for quick results and disciplined program, try the 9 Day.  The Isagenix 9 Day is not for everyone. The average weight loss is 7.5 pounds on the 9 Day Program.

4. The 30 Day Program is for those that want to lose weight consistently on a more ‘do-able’ plan.  The Isagenix 30 Day is a plan most people can follow and can achieve amazing and lasting results.
